Arran Fine Foods
Arran Fine Foods is located in the picturesque village of Lamlash on the east coast of the Isle of Arran. A great holiday destination, Arran is home to a host of delicious produce.
Originally a family business producing a range of mustard for local gift shops and businesses, it is now part of the Paterson family and shares the approaches prevalent throughout other areas of the company– notably the use of great ingredients to make great food.
Today, around 20 employees make a selection of preserves, mustards, chutneys and salad dressings. We have also developed close relationships with the local Distillery and Brewery and created the Arran Provenance range. These delicious, exciting new products include Arran Ale, Arran Whisky and most impressively elephant garlic and beetroot which are locally grown by Robin Gray. Truly, a taste of Arran in a jar!
Robin's shore side-grown, freshly picked herbs and vegetables are farmed in poly-tunnels and fields on the shores of Whiting Bay, Arran. The produce is left untouched from artificial fertilisers which speed up the growing process at the expense of flavour. Instead, Robin harnesses the natural qualities of wild seaweed, which he collects off the beach and uses for compost.
The Arran range has scooped 12 prestigious Great Taste Awards since 2002, including a Gold 1 Star Award at the 2008 Great Taste Awards for its Matured Apple & Arran Ale Chutney and a 2004 Scottish Speciality Award for its Arran's Smooth Honey Mustard.
